In a world where fuel has been a hindrance in allowing public transportation to serve the public better, alternative methods of using fuel are in the limelight. Electric cars are being buzzed up and we see most countries unveiling various options such as this solar powered cab that roams Malibu.

No one can attest to it better other than famous director James Cameron who experienced riding in these solar powered cabs firsthand. Cameron is known to be a hit when it comes to futuristic films and this time around, he is not only playing around with them in his mind, he is living the fruits of the future at this very moment.

The famous director (who we should also mentioned embraced the past with Titanic), was spotted a couple weeks ago at the Malibu Arts Festival checking out and riding around in the Solartaxi; the first completely solar-powered car to drive around the world. As one would expect, this is an emissions-free vehicle that derives its power completely from the sun. It seats two, has three wheels and pulls a trailer covered in solar panels to charge the batteries in the front of the car. It has a top speed of about 50mph and can do roughly 100 miles on a six-hour charge. So far, the inventor, Louis Palmer, has taken the vehicle to Europe, the Middle East, Asia, New Zealand and now North America.

At times you will never know when your mobile phone or iPod batteries would run out and when you are on the road, chances are you will have to wait until you settle down to one place and plug in your usual charger adapters to get back to a full charge.

But for women, you don’t have to wait until you stop at one place. In fact, it would be best if you are on the go to get the sun rays help charge your phone with the use of these Willow solar powered hand bags.

So if you are the classy and fashionable type, this solar powered handbag comes with chargers you can bank on. Just charge it in with the USB option and you can charge while you are mobile. At the moment it is said to be sold out but expect more of this kind of technology to come out in the market soon.

This nifty little handbag is made from Bavarian cowhide leather with antique brass hardware, hand dyed hemp/cotton fabric, a hemp cotton lining and sports a 12-inch by 12-inch flexible solar panel on the side. Gadgets connect to the solar panel via the cable hidden away in the inside pocket using the USB or iPod cables included with the handbag. It also comes in either chocolate or steel colors.
